A PLAN FOR A BULK CARGO ALLOCATION SYSTEM

This report is in microfiche form. The report shows that the problem of allocating a number of cargoes to a fleet of ships can be formulated as an integral linear programming problem of the type known as statistical routing. The possibility of further cargo offers subsequent to the previous allocations is also considered, and an acceptance test for this purpose is presented. Although the method is suitable for the allocation of both bulk and general cargoes, the algorithms for the route generators are suitable only for the assignment of bulk cargoes.
