THE AUTOFIT CAD/CAM SYSTEM FOR PIPING ENGINEERING: OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE AND DEVELOPMENT STATUS

AUTOFIT is an abbreviation for AUTOmated outFITting and the name of a computer-based technical information system for piping engineering. The system is also prepared to interface other tasks and functions, e.g. analyses, planning, shop automation in varied engineering disciplines <steel structuring, material control, purchasing, quality control>. This paper describes the AUTOFIT subsystems and their applications, outlines the development status and summarizes operational experience.
