A chronological review is given of measures taken during the energy crisis, 1973, and of their effect on traffic safety. It is stated that there are not sufficient data available to draw conclusions regarding the measures taken during the energy crisis in 1973 - except as regards the automobile - free Sunday and maybe the voluntary maximum speed limit - and the decrease in the number of fatal traffic accidents. /TRRL/
