MODEL AND FULL SCALE STEERING TRIALS ON A 50-TONNE FUEL TANKER

Model and full scale results are presented for Dieudonne spiral manoeuvres on a swim-ended fuel tanker <length b.p. 16.4 m>, operating in shallow water. The tests cover both load and light displacements, and three different skeg arrangements aft. The correlation between model and full-scale results was consistent for all tests. The paper is followed by discussers' contributions and the Author's replies.
