This revised edition is an updating of the 7th edition incorporating results of recent international investigations. The new parts concern: alkali corrosion, corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete, corrosion of concrete used in road construction, etc. Discussions are included on the resistance to corrosion of various types of cement, on the harmful effect of underground water, on corrosion by fresh water and different aggressive chemical agents, and means of protection. Mention is made of current specifications in a number of countries for the protection of concrete against corrosion. /TRRL/
