RECENT ADVANCES IN COMPUTER-BASED SHIPBOARD MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

A fully integrated shipboard computer system was designed, programmed tested, and installed aboard a Great Lakes dry bulk ship. This paper describes the key aspects of the project and is structured to illustrate the benefits and the disciplines of computerization.
