GIRDERS WITH UNSTIFFENED SLENDER WEBS

The paper describes recent developments in the investigation of steel girders with unstiffened slender webs. In the first part the elastic critical loads are calculated by a variational method. The second part presents the results of tests on four girders. Finally different types of numerical concept and possible practical rules are compared.
