INTERIM REPORT ON BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVELS OF NIGHTTIME CANADIAN DRIVERS
The data for this report were obtained from a national roadside survey, which was conducted on each Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night for the nine weeks extending from April 17 to June 15 and three weeks in September - October 1974. In the course of the survey 9,744 drivers were stopped on the roads between the hours of 10 p.m. - midnight and 1 a.m. - 3 a.m. At 572 randomly selected locations across the country. Each driver was asked to voluntarily provide a breath sample which, when analyzed, would indicate the amount of alcohol in the blood. The object of the survey was to assess the extent and nature of the drinking-driving problem in Canada. /TRRL/
