COMMITTEE FOR EUROPEAN CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT - SECTION 3. EUROPEAN STANDARD FOR ROAD ROLLERS AND SOIL COMPACTORS

The document concerns road rollers and soil compactors, not including vibrating plates and dampers, which are covered by a further standard issued by the Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE). The standard covers: (1). Description of rollers and their ancillary equipment; (2). Definitions of the essential features of rollers and ancillary equipment; (3). Conditions for the execution of tests for those features which are given in the manufacturer's publicity. The aim is to facilitate, on a European basis, relations between manufacturers and users of the equipment; the document is not intended to formulate recommendations regarding design or manufacture of rollers. The scope of the CECE's work is also outlined. At present, there are national committees in the following countries: France, United Kingdom, Western Germany, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland. /TRRL/
