PROPELLER AND HULL EFFICIENCY MONITORING SYSTEM

The paper describes a new propulsion monitoring system developed by Cetena. The technique employed is the direct measurement of such variables as shaft torque and thrust, propeller rpm, fuel flow and ship speed either in terms of actual values or as computed averages or time integrals. The system allows for calculation of the true scale propeller performance and the hull degradation with time.
