NOISE SCREEN EXPERIMENTS IN KUNGAELV, SWEDEN 1973/1974
BULLERSKAERMSFOERSOEK I KUNGAELV 1973/74
An experiment with noise screens was conducted on the viaduct part of the motorway bridge over the Nordre River in Kungaelv. Four kinds of noise screens were studied. The results show that only a moderate noise screening effect was obtained since the edge of the bridge was in itself noise screening. The noise screening effect was smaller than expected. The obtained noise screening had the effect that the 24 hour equivalent levels in the area was 53-58 db (A) outdoors at about 20 000 vehicles per 24 hours with 20% heavy traffic. /TRRL/
