STANDARD TYPE VEHICLE
TYPFORDON
In existing normal regulations for the geometrial layout of roads two types of vehicle have been taken as a standard for the dimensioning of special cross-roads and roundabouts. A standard type vehicle is a theoretical motor vehicle with dimensions, space requirements and performance covering the corresponding characteristics of motor vehicles usually existing in a vehicle category. The purpose of this report was to give a basis for a possible revision and completion of these standard-type vehicles. It was found that the existing standard-type vehicles should be abandoned. A proposition for new standard-type vehicles is suggested; type vehicle I is a passenger car with specified dimensions, type vehicle II is a bus with specified dimensions, type vehicle IIIA is a lorry with semi-trailer with specified dimensions, and type vehicle III b is a lorry with trailer dimensions, and type vehicle III B is a lorry with trailer /TRRL/
