The first aim of the project is to develop and demonstrate Traffic Information Centres (TICs) in England and France that have real time knowledge of travel conditions on the main routes for cross channel trips. The second aim is to provide and evaluate a range of information services which disseminate information and advice to travellers, drivers, and freight hauliers both before and during journeys along the corridor. The third aim is to develop state of the art monitoring and control facilities for use throughout the corridor. Details are provided of: a) the partners involved in the project; b) the four primary areas of work; and c) the project structure. The four areas include: a) Travel and Traffic Information (TTI); b) Integrated InterUrban Traffic Management (IIUTM); c) Public Transport Management; and d) Freight and Fleet Management (FFM).
