WILL THE DOT SPAN THE GAP BETWEEN NEED AND BUDGETS?
The House of Lords Select Committee on the European Communities has produced a report on maximum weights and dimensions of road vehicles. In this report, recommendations are made to increase the present maximum limit for lorries of 38t spread over five axles to 44t on six axles. In this article, the funding concerns of local authorities to provide strengthening works needed for their bridge stock are raised.
