DATA ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES FOR LONG TERM PAVEMENT PERFORMANCE MODELS
Research in the UK is being conducted to establish a framework for the data analyses from LTPP experiments to be applied to derive performance relationships from data sets accumulated over a long time. The research data is designed to simulate the LTPP data set by using data extracted from records of pavement performance collected from trial sections established by the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) in the UK over a period of more than twenty years. The data has been transformed to correspond to the pattern of data that will eventually be accumulated from the LTPP experiments. The data represent pavements which fall within the cell matrices of GPS-1 (Asphalt Concrete on Granular Base) and GPS-2 (Asphalt Concrete on Bound Base). Two of the pavement condition indicators monitored on these sections were Benkelman beam deflections and rut depths measured under a 1.2 meter straight edge.
