AUTOMATED HIGHWAY SYSTEMS PRECURSOR SYSTEMS ANALYSES INTERIM RESULTS WORKSHOP (CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS)

The Automated Highway Systems (AHS) Precursor Systems Analyses (PSA) Interim Results Workshop (IRW) was held 5 April through 8 April 1994 at the Westfield's Conference Center in Chantilly, Virginia. The major goals of the AHS IRW were to: (1) describe the ongoing AHS research effort to the larger community; (2) share some initial AHS PSA results in order to show the level and quality of the current research; (3) gain feedback and insight from the stakeholder community; and (4) facilitate in-depth interaction among PSA researchers. A total of five general sessions were held as part of the workshop: Potential Performance Gains, System-Oriented Issues, Vehicle-Oriented Issues, Roadway-Oriented Issues, and Institutional and Societal Issues. This document highlights the discussions of the major issues addressed in the breakout groups for each of the five general sessions.
