DEVELOPMENT OF A PERSONAL COMPUTER-BASED DATA SYSTEM FOR PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT - PROGRAM DOCUMENTATION
The Connecticut Department of Transportation has implemented a network-level pavement management program for the state-maintained highway network. This system requires the network to be subdivided into sections with similar physical, engineering, and political characteristics. The sections are then evaluated and paving priorities assigned. The program, written in 1984, was mainframe-based and required a computer programmer to operate and maintain it. This project reevaluated the existing program design and converted it to run on a personal computer. This document summarizes the process and provides computer program documentation written by the software consultant.
