IOWA TRAFFIC SAFETY FOUNDATION, A STUDY
This investigation has revealed the absence of positive response by industry and business to highway safety problems. This has resulted in the recommendation that private funding be generated to support a state traffic safety foundation in Iowa. Discussion has attempted to present a complete picture of safety needs in Iowa. Investigation revealed the absence of community involvement and committment in motor vehicle, farm and home safety. Concentration in "traffic safety" aimed at industrial, agricultural and the general public will have spin-off benefits in home and farm safety. Therefore, it is recommended that a "Traffic Safety Foundation" be formed and that it be staffed with professionals who will work with women, youth, farm, and safety groups to achieve specific traffic accident prevention goals.
