MANAGING COMMUNITY GROWTH

For over 20 years, communities have adopted growth management programs to control the location, timing, or rate of growth. This book examines the impacts of these efforts. The author evaluates the four basic types of growth management programs used today--growth phasing programs, urban growth boundaries, rate-of-growth programs, and adequate public facilities requirements--and provides examples of each. He also evaluates specific growth management techniques such as targeted capital investments, annexation policy, and public land acquisition.
