HEALTH ABOARD SHIP
The requirements set forth in the UK Merchant Shipping Regulations concerning the medicines and medical supplies to be carried on board UK ships are outlined. Brief first-aid advice is given for the treatment of semidrowning, wounds, burns, fractures and shock. It is pointed out that the very best advice that can be given, however, is that every seafarer acquire first-aid skills for himself or herself. Although such knowledge is always valuable, in emergency situations it becomes priceless.
