DYNAMICS OF ELASTIC CABLE UNDER PARAMETRIC AND EXTERNAL RESONANCES
A nonlinear dynamic model was developed for an elastic cable under parametric and external resonances. Numerical analysis was conducted to investigate the dynamic responses of the elastic suspended cable, which contained cubic nonlinearities due to cable stretching and quadratic nonlinearities due to equilibrium cable curvature in a tilted configuration. Additional parametric analyses were pursued to distinguish between parametric and external resonances and their couplings. Researchers determined that excitation amplitudes and tilted angles play a significant role in parametric and external resonances.
