STEEL CORROSION IN REINFORCED CONCRETE (1992-1994)
This international bibliography includes abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles on the study and prevention of the corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete, with particular reference to highway bridges. Abstracted papers are included on the causes of such corrosion, including the effect of sulphate ions, chloride ions, the effect of alkali silicon reaction in the surrounding concrete, and the effect of various admixtures in the concrete, such as slag, fly ash and silica fume. Articles are included on the detection, measurement and monitoring of corrosion, and on its prevention by such methods as cathodic protection, epoxy coating, and electrochemical desalination. The items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1992 and 1994.
