PEDESTRIAN/BICYCLE ACCIDENT DATA SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS PROGRAM: VOLUMES ONE-SEVEN
The Pedestrian/Bicyclist Accident Data Sampling and Analysis Program (PADSAP) is based on a nationwide probability-sample-based data gathering, data processing, and data analysis system. The system has been designed to continuously report comprehensive motor vehicle pedestrian or bicyclist accident data; to provide timely nationwide estimates of the number and relative frequency of various types of accidents; to determine time trends of such events; to permit recognition of repetitive patterns of accident causing factors; to provide flexible and rapid ad hoc query responses; and to aid in evaluating the effectiveness of specific accident countermeasures./NHTSA/
