IN SEARCH OF A COMPATIBLE SOLUTION FOR A CENTRAL STREETWORKS REGISTER
Local authorities have until 8th July 1994 to decide whether to opt for a central computerised streetworks register, or organise this activity using local or regional registers. Envisaged by the Horne report and supported by the major users two years ago, a central register is the likely but still uncertain result. A main concern is the local costs utilities would incur using a centralised register.
