COMPUTER AIDED MEASURING SYSTEM FOR IMPROVED VEHICLE-DYNAMICS TESTING

This article describes the development of a computer-aided measuring system for vehicle dynamics testing. A description is given of the measuring equipment involved. A combination of Correvit transducers and those providing analogue, pulse frequency, digital and binary signals are linked to a lap-top computer, printer and plotter and the whole system can be battery-operated. Diagrams are provided to illustrate circuits and interfaces. The software utilises Turbo- Pascal language and can be used at a general level or at and 'open' programmable level. The software includes a universal package, 4 diagnostic and demonstration programmes, data processing programmes and utility programmes. Examples are provided of the format of the type of results that can be displayed.
