A STATISTICAL METHOD OF QUALITY CONTROL IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION
EEN STATISTISCHE METHODE VOOR KWALITEITSCONTROLE IN DE WEGENBOUW
After an introduction the new criteria adopted for the quality control of flexible pavements are described. These criteria are based on statistical analysis of test results with reference to the compressive strength of sand cement, the state of compaction of sand asphalt, the bitumen content and percent air voids of asphaltic concrete and the thickness of the pavement layers. The operating characteristic curves used for drafting the penalty criteria are represented and the relation between penalty sums and percent defective with respect to the limits specified in the penalty clauses are discussed. The equations underlying the calculation methods are appended. See also IRRD abstract no. 211695. /TRRL/
