ECONOMIC AND SPATIAL EFFECTS OF INFRASTRUCTURE: A RESEARCH PROGRAMME
STRUCTURERENDE WERKING VAN INFRASTRUCTUUR: EEN ONDERZOEKSPROGRAMMA
In 1993, the Project Bureau for Integrated Transport Studies (Pb IVVS) has initiated a research programme under the name: "Economic and Spatial effects of Infrastructure". In this programme, projects are designed to investigate the relationship between infrastructure and economic and spatial development. The Pb IVVS aim is to investigate this relationship at different spatial levels, and to obtain information about when infrastructure can be used as a tool for forecasting both desirable and undesirable economic and spatial future developments. This paper discusses the goals and contents of the projects which are carried out by several consultants. (A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 862276.
