TWIN SIDESHIFTERS FOR REEFER SHIP TRIO

Three innovative 170,000 cu ft reefer ships entering service with Copenhagen Reefers feature twin side loader/unloader systems based on MacGregor Navire's Sideshifter concept, an increasingly popular choice for the efficient handling of palletized cargoes. The first of the 2,800 dwt ships is the ICE STAR, with a length oa of 92.80m. The ship's Sideshifter installations and elevator systems are described, with accompanying photographs.
