MEASURES TO PROMOTE EXPORTS TO JAPAN
The premise of this article is that Japan has emerged as a land of opportunity for exporters and that India must make an all-out effort to capitalize on those opportunities. Penetrating the Japanese market would call for skill and a professional approach, however, and the factors that can affect success are discussed. They include: noncompetitive export prices, poor quality, commercial feasibility, lobbying, the exchange of information, trade fairs and exhibitions, long-term strategy, and governmental and institutional support.
