FUTURE TRENDS IN THE INTERNATIONAL TANKER INDUSTRY
OCIMF (Oil Companies International Marine Forum) was established in 1970 as a voluntary association of oil companies with an interest in crude oil and petroleum products transportation and terminals. In this paper, the director of the OCIMF highlights the pressures that face the industry in the form of issues related to manning standards and the training and certification of seafarers; aging fleets; classification society standards; environmental protection of the oceans from operational pollution sources; and the preservation of air quality through vapor recovery systems and the control of stack emissions.
