A FINITE-VOLUME METHOD FOR THE UNSTEADY FLOW ABOUT A SHIP IN GENERALIZED COORDINATE SYSTEMS
A finite-volume method for a flow about a ship-like body is developed in generalized curvilinear coordinate systems. The conservation of mass and momentum is implemented in generalized coordinate systems with sufficient robustness. The numerical dissipation term of the fourth-derivative form and the sub-grid scale turbulence model are incorporated. Simulation results are presented for a flow about a Wigley hull at the Reynolds number 4 X 10 to the 6th power.
