RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE DESIGN OF HIGHWAYS OUTSIDE BUILT-UP AREAS
RICHTLIJNEN VOOR HET ONTWERPEN VAN WEGEN BUITEN DE BEHOUWDE KOM
After discussing the purpose and realization of design criteria for rural roads in general, some of the recent recommendations for motorway design are outlined. The various important design parameters such as sight distance, perception, acceleration and deceleration, vehicle stability, coefficient of friction, and collision characteristics are described. The covering abstract for the conference is IRRD abstract no. 211744 /TRRL/
