A COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN SYSTEM FOR PLANE FRAME STRUCTURES
This paper describes the recent development of a computer aided design system for plane frame structures. The basic part of the system can be generally applied for the various existing types of plane frame structures. For practical application special purpose modules have been developed that are attached to the basic system. In this paper the attention is concentrated on the system that has been built for steel bridge design. The accent is laid upon the facilities the system provides for the engineer. Computer aspects and software design problems will not be discussed. Furthermore there will be no explicit discussions on the philosophy of computer aided design techniques. /Author/
