PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF DESIGNING AGAINST TRAFFIC NOISE
Information on barrier performance significant for design purposes is tabulated and the extraction of such information from existent design schemes (taking into consideration all major variables) is examined. A method is described which consists of one basic set of graphs to give effective heights for a barrier placed midway between the source (S) and the receiver (R), and a set of correction lines to give actual barrier heights for any intermediate location and any relative elevation of S and R. Use of the design charts is described, and practical factors in the design of barriers are set forth.
