EFFECT OF HEAT ON STONE AGGREGATES
ALTERABILIDAD TERMICA DE LOS AGREGADOS PETREOS
The authors assume that the heat to which stone aggregates are subjected in drying ovens in bitumious plants affects their characteristics, especially the results obtained with The Los Angeles abrasion test. Preliminary experiments show that this alteration can take place or not according to the type of rock . An Olavarria granite sample was used to study the technique that reproduces the same grade of alteration as that obtained in the drying oven. For a practical application of the results obtained, it is necessary to increase the number of rocks tested. This has not yet been possible. /TRRL/
