COMPARATIVE MEASUREMENTS OF THE COLLOIDAL STABILITY OF ASPHALTS USED IN PAVEMENTS
SOBRE UNA MEDIDA COMPARATIVA DE LA ESTABILIDAD COLOIDAL DE LOS ASFALTOS USADOS EN PAVIMENTACION
After a brief introduction on the colloidal stability of asphalts, a proposal is made for an easy test to determine the colloidal stability of asphaltenes used in pavements. The test showed that asphaltene colloidal stability is not A critical property, since the types of asphalt used can show marked changes in consistency without important modifications. The test also showed that asphalts from Comodoro Rivadavia (Rio Negro Prov.) have greater colloidal stability than other asphalts. The relation between asphaltene colloidal stability and asphalt rheological behaviour is also studied. /TRRL/
