DEVELOPMENT OF PUMPS FOR THE MARINE AND OFFSHORE OIL INDUSTRIES
This paper reviews the background to and the changes that have taken place in fire pump system design philosophy and the currently installed alternative systems. It examines the development of the Weir downhole pumpset, considering its design application and installation, as well as the unit's suitability for use in conjunction with the new 'wireline' intervention methods now used in subsea applications.
