RETURN OF THE SMALL COASTER

Two of the smallest cargo ships ordered in some years are planned to enter service in the North European short sea trades in late 1988. At 950 dwt, they are indicative of a rekindling of interest in utilizing small coasters. They, and other vessels reflecting this trend, are described.
