CORROSION RESISTANT MATERIALS IN MARINE GAS TURBINE APPLICATIONS
Detroit Diesel Allison has a variety of turboshaft and turbofan engines which operate in severe marine environments. Specific engine models, their mission, and their high-temperature turbine components are reviewed. The turbine alloy-coating system selection process is presented through laboratory tests, engine tests, customer evaluation, and overhaul experience. Corrosion resistant coating-alloy systems selected for particular marine applications are discussed along with the critical selection parameters.
