DETERMINATION OF OVERLOADS DURING THE IMPACT OF A PROFILE ON THE SURFACE OF A LIQUID

For strength calculations of subaqueous and surface hydrofoils, it is necessary to know the magnitude of overloads during their impact against the free surface of the liquid. Theoretical and experimental results are presented regarding the determination of impact overloads when a flat plate falls upon the free surface of a liquid. The possibilities of an approximate modeling of this phenomenon are pointed out.
