ON THE VIBRATION OF TRAPEZOIDAL STIFFENED PLATE
A method is proposed for calculating the natural vibration of a trapezoidal stiffened plate, a common element of ship stern structures. Calculated results and experimental results are compared and good agreement obtained. The vibration characteristics of the trapezoidal stiffened plate are studied, and a method is also proposed for determining the dimensions of a rectangular stiffened plate whose natural frequency would be equal to that of the trapezoidal stiffened plate.
