IHC RESEARCH ENABLES DREDGEPUMPS TO BE DESIGNED TO CUSTOMER SPECIFICATIONS
In response to market demand, IHC Holland has been engaged in research on the design of special duty dredging pumps to fill the needs of individual customers. This article gives an overview of IHC's current state of research and development in this area. Aspects covered include: the determination of pump working range; pump development; theoretical research; the calculation of flow tubes, local flow velocities, and optimal blade shape; the influence of the pump housing; the conduct of laboratory tests; and the scaling up of test results.
