KDS: THE KNOWLEDGE-BASED DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM SHELL

A Knowledge-based Diagnostic System (KDS) shell, developed in China at the Harbor Institute of Technology, is described. This paper gives a general overview of the system's software architecture and a variety of its processing elements. An expert system, called ETHYLENE, has been written in KDS. The program provides some indication of the range of potential applications for KDS. An overview is given of the system's software architecture and of a variety of its processing elements.
