POWER SPECTRUM DENSITY EFFECTS ON STRAIN CYCLING FATIGUE LIFE
Experiments are described in which the effects of power spectrum density of strains on the fatigue life of a pressure vessel steel were examined by means of random loading fatigue tests. Two types of methods to estimate the fatigue life were newly proposed. In addition, estimation using Miner's Law was done, and the effects of the wave counting method were investigated. A comparative study was made of all the estimations and is also discussed.
