TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF LINER VESSEL DEVELOPMENTS
The economics of a vessel are strongly related to the employment of technical developments in its design. The author deals with certain technical aspects of recent liner vessel developments. The interaction between strength and ship design is treated first, after which hydrodynamic aspects--resistance reduction and the improvement of propulsive efficiency--are discussed.
