FOREST PRODUCTS, SEABORNE TRADE AND TRANSPORT
Some highlights are presented from the latest edition of "Forest Products, Seaborne Trade and Transport," published by the London- based firm of Drewry Shipping Consultants. The report does not see the trade volumes from 1989 to 1994 as equalling that of 1988, which saw a record volume of 157 million tons. The period is forecast to instead be one of relative stability and one in which the forest products industry is expected to experience ongoing structural change. A surge of growth is foreseen, however, for the mid-1990s.
