ON THE PREDICTION OF FENDER FORCES AT BERTHING STRUCTURES, PART 2: SHIP BERTHING RELATED TO FENDER STRUCTURE
This second part of a two-part paper on fender forces during berthing continues the development of a mathematical model accurate enough to describe the behavior of a ship berthing to a fendered open jetty-type facility or fendered closed structure, and to determine the theoretical respose of the fenders. Each case is given separate treatment and the impulse response function technique developed in Part 1 of the paper is applied.
