CALCULATION OF THE ANNUAL CAPACITY OF A FLOATING TRANSPORT-ERECTION CRANE
Floating cranes used to deliver and erect drilling platforms and hydraulic engineering or similar structures at a designated location are usually self powered vessels with a pontoon or semisubmersible floating platform on which hoisting gear is erected, and usually have a special area for cargo. The design of such a crane and the optimization of its principal particulars require that the annual capacity of the crane be calculated; a parameter defined as the mass of the structures to be conveyed and erected. The formulas for calculating this capacity are developed.
