ON TURBULENT CHARACTERISTICS AND NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF 2- DIMENSIONAL SUB-BREAKING WAVES
Studies of two-dimensional sub-breaking waves generated by a submerged hydrofoil are described. Experimental investigations were first carried out to develop a turbulence model by relating turbulence quantities to averaged velocity. The numerical simulation was then carried out by solving the Reynolds-averaged equations with a turbulence model. Comparisons with measured data showed the inclusion of the Reynolds stress terms to be important.
