TRANSVERSE STABILITY OF FISHING VESSELS AT RESONANT FREQUENCIES
Rolling motions of fishing vessels are studied, using an uncoupled equation valid for regular waves in following seas. It is shown that the maximum resonance condition may not be obtained when the encounter frequency is close to twice the rolling natural frequency. Numerical simulations indicate that the stern shape is relevant to the rolling motion.
